Dr. Harald Marquardt (57) studied Business Administration at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich after completing training to become a banker. After holding several positions at Osram GmbH – including that of Finance Director at the English subsidiary in London – he joined the Managing Board of Marquardt GmbH based in Rietheim-Weilheim in 1996 as a representative of the third generation. In 1997, he completed a PhD to become a doctor of economics, business administration and sociology (Dr. rer. pol.) at the University of Stuttgart. He has been Speaker of the Marquardt Group’s Managing Board since 2004 and its Chairman since 2015.
Dr. Harald Marquardt is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Südwestmetall (the Association of the Metal and Electronics Industry in Baden-Württemberg) and Vice-President of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (CIC). He is also a Treasurer on the Board of the German-Arab Friendship Association (DAFG) and a long-standing Board member of the Baden-Württemberg Center for Rationalization and Innovation of the German Economy.
After studying Mechatronics at Furtwangen University, Jochen Becker (46) began his career at Marquardt in 1998. He started out working as a graduate engineer in the device microswitches development segment. From 2006 onward, he was team leader in automotive switches and systems development. 2007 saw him join Marquardt Switches, Inc. – Marquardt’s North American subsidiary based in Cazenovia – as General Manager. Up until the end of 2016, he was responsible for the entire North America region as Vice-President. As Chief Operating Officer, Jochen Becker has been responsible for all of the company’s production operations since 2017.
Dr. Claus Bischoff (45) graduated from the Technical University (TU) in Munich and the Politecnico in Turin with a degree in Research and Development for Mechanical Engineering / Aeronautical Engineering. In 1999, he joined Robert Bosch GmbH as a graduate engineer and did his doctorate on a part-time basis in the field of mechatronics at the ETH Zurich / University of Rostock. For more than 15 years, he held management positions at Bosch in the Powertrain and E-Mobility business fields. He then assumed responsibility for engineering and a start-up innovation center at Magna Powertrain AG. In 2017, he moved to Continental AG as head of global development for hybrid and electric vehicle systems. In January 2019, he joined the Marquardt management board as Chief Technology Officer with responsibility for Development and Engineering Service.
Dr. Gregor Schmeken (47) has been a Member of the Managing Board and Chief Financial Officer of the Marquardt Group since November 2016. Dr. Schmeken, who holds a degree and doctorate in Business Administration, represents the IT, Legal, Finance and Controlling department. He previously held several management positions at Siemens AG and Continental AG in Germany and Asia. At the end of 2011, he switched to the automotive supplier Magna, where he was responsible for Magna Vision Systems’ global finances in Toronto until October 2016.
