The new BMW Motorrad X2City adds another fresh look to the segment of emissions-free mobility on two wheels at the BMW Group. Lightweight and compact, the BMW Motorrad X2City with an electric add-on drive transports its user to the destination, without dependence on congestion, shortage of parking spaces or timetables of public transport.
With a top speed of up to 25 km/h and an electrical range of around 25 to 35 kilometres, the BMW Motorrad X2City is predestined for daily use in the city's increasingly dense traffic. It is more compact than a folding bike and can be easily carried onto buses and trains.
The Marquardt hub motor provides effective support for the driver and accelerates the BMW Motorrad X2City up to 25 km/h. There are five speed levels (8, 12, 16, 20 and 25 km/h) available via the Marquardt control unit on the handlebars. The Marquardt battery, equipped with a battery management system with integrated power electronics, ensures 25-35 km range in every day life. The BMW Motorrad X2City expands the world of urban mobility with an attractive, emission-free alternative and proves our competence as a development partner for ground-breaking e-mobility products. The BMW Motorrad X2City is expected to be available by the end of 2017.
